OR: CSCC April Fool’s Rally

Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Play the game that takes you places. Season Flyer

The next event in the Cascade Geargrinders 2024 Saturday Road Rally Series is on April 20. The April rally is the second of six in the Series. Teams who run three or more of the six rallies are eligible for Series Awards.

Schedule:
Friday, April 19
     Q&A Zoom meeting: 7pm
Saturday, April 20
     First team starts: 10:01 am 
     First team arrives at finish (approx.): 1:30 pm 
     Winners announced and prizes awarded soon after last team finishes
     Results emailed: Saturday evening or Sunday 
 
Entry fee: 
     $25 per team for CSCC members (either driver or navigator is a Cascade member)
     $35 per team for non-members  

Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor — Richta GPS Checkpoints app (app is free).

Event requirements

These events are conducted in accordance with Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally Rules.

Online registration is required. Day-of-event on-site registration is not available.

All communication about the rally occurs via email. Watch for emails and respond promptly.

After completing online registration by the Wednesday midnight deadline, you will receive instructions to complete the virtual check-in on Thursday. You must register your assigned car number in the Competitor — Richta GPS Checkpoints, e-sign the required event insurance waivers, and confirm your team’s registration information.

After you complete these check-in steps, you will receive the route instructions on Friday. You need to print them. On Friday at 7 pm attend a Zoom Q&A meeting. Take advantage of the Q&A meeting to ask questions.

On Saturday morning, leave the start by your assigned out time. Follow the route instructions to the end. Soon after all teams finish the rally, winners will be announced, and prizes will be awarded at the ending location. Results will be emailed on Saturday evening or Sunday.
