CA: Cal Club First Friday Niter

April 7, 2023 @ 7:00 PM 10:30 PM

It’s April, and we all know what that means for the First Friday Niter.  But this time, the joke is on us – Larry Scholnick is giving is a Tour Rally! So unlike all those previous April FFNs that Larry has written, there is no need to be afraid of whatever foolishness there might have been for this rally. It’s a tour!!  The odometer check heads out to Westlake Village, where the challenge to stay on time begins. The rally includes Potrero Road, a trip through Newbury Park, then more Potrero Road to a visit to Cal State Channel Islands, and we finish with a loop of Loop! It’s a fun drive, so come join us on April 7!

This rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring, with timing in seconds. The maximum penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per checkpoint. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks to your Official Time shows in the app!

Also, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish, download the FREE Richta Scoreboard app also.

Please try to register online at msreg.com/FFN042023.  This helps us with figuring out how many sets of instructions to print, and trophies, and other stuff.  If that doesn’t work for you, you can still register in person at the start. We start at the Bank of America rear lot. In-person registration opens at 7:00 pm, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.

The rally will finish at Pizza Man Dan’s, 2390 Las Posas Road, Camarillo (a new Pizza Man Dan’s for us).

Is your usual rally partner not available for this FFN?  Let Jeanne know and she will attempt to match you up with another single.  Contact Jeanne at ean21@juno.com.
