NH: Great American Mountain Rallye Revival Celebrates 70th Anniversary of 1953 Rally

September 25, 2023 September 27, 2023

The Great American Mountain Rally Revival (GAMRR) will return to the beautiful Green Mountain State of Vermont this Fall. This fall will be the 70th Anniversary of the first running of the Great American Mountain Rally!

Thanksgiving weekend in 1953 started the Great American Mountain Rallye that ran for four years – through 1956. In 2018, my friend Steve McKelvie and I decided to revive this historical event as the Great American Mountain Rally Revival (GAMRR).

Since that first revival running in 2018, our entries have traversed almost 1600 miles through some of New England’s most beautiful countryside. We have run through New York’s Adirondack Mountains, Vermont’s Green Mountains, and New Hampshire & Maine’s White Mountains and Lakes Regions. We have retraced hundreds of miles of the original routes that were run in the 1950s.

In 2023, we will run the event out of the Bolton Valley area of Vermont, which affords us access to great mountain passes, rolling farmland, and the Lake Champlain Valley. If you have participated in GAMRR before, you know the quality of Vermont roads; otherwise, you will surely enjoy what we have in store for this year. As we did last year, we have a very special stop for lunch on day one at an amazing automotive facility.

Pricing and lodging details will be forthcoming in the next few weeks, and we anticipate opening registration in May. We are hoping you can join us for this special event!

Please click here to follow our GAMRR 2023 blog for information as it is developed. If you would like to be added to our 2023 GAMRR list, please email me, and we will add you to the list for emails with important information.

Till then, stay tuned via our Facebook page to be kept abreast of important updates about the GAMRR 2023.
