Twenty-four cars started the 10th Annual Badger Burrow Rallye on the mostly sunny morning of May 8, 2021. Rallymaster Fred Rosevear had laid out a five-hour-long brisk course of 110 miles through the hills of the Driftless Region of Wisconsin, primarily in Iowa County. These roads are hilly, twisty, sometimes narrow, and seldom straight. The rally was a true Regional event, with teams from Land ‘o Lakes (LoL), Chicago, Blackhawk Valley, Detroit, and Milwaukee Regions.
Scores were tabulated to .1 point per .1 second early/late at each control. The Overall Winner was the team of Gary and Sharon Starr from the LoL Region with a total score of 11 points through 42 timed controls.
Tim Marx and Kyle Marx (and son Ian Marx in the backseat), Blackhawk Valley Region, won the Calculating Class with 107 points. Martin Sadowski and Courtney Riess, Chicago Region, won the Seat of Pants Class with 110 points with no calculating allowed. Jeff Rogers and Alli Kollar of LoL Region took top honors in the 1st Timer Class with 160 points.Winning cars received a “trophy kit” consisting of a LEGO Porsche or Camaro and a Billboard with the place noted.
